Krista Boncheff LCSW, ADC
I am so glad you're here! Let's sit down, talk, and have some tea as we start to unpack what brought you to me. I specialize in dissociation, chronic illness and pain, self-harm, addiction recovery, and cPTSD. If you are unsure about what you are experiencing but feel lost and "out of it" a lot of the time, we may be a good fit. If you have a lot of headaches, body aches, and stomach aches that you can't explain, we may be a good fit. If you have a lot of medical problems and have a hard time advocating for yourself at the doctor, we may be a good fit. There are so many things we can work on together. I fully believe that you are the expert of you and I am the expert on "theory," which makes us a perfect match.

While I do have some lived experience with addiction, mental health, and chronic illness, you are still the expert on you and ultimately, this is your treatment and you have the final say. I am merely a guide and you are the one forging through the swamp, fog light and everything, as we make our way to the other side. If I push and you don't want to go there, we won't go there. If you want to pause or stop all together, we pause or stop all together. This is your treatment, not mine.

My therapeutic approach depends on the need of the individual. Everyone is different. Typically, I do a lot of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Ego State, and Somatic work; however, if that's not the right approach for someone, we won't do that. Additionally, for different issues, there are different approaches. I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing as well.
