About

About Me
My path to becoming a therapist began at sixteen with a spark of curiosity that never went out. But it was my own personal journey through life’s challenges that truly taught me what it means to heal. I don't just bring clinical tools to our sessions; I bring a deep, lived understanding of how much courage it takes to ask for help.
At Embodied Renewal Counseling, we see you as the expert on your own life. We’re here to offer a safe, steady space where your unique journey is honored and heard.
We believe in a partnership—working hand-in-hand with you to identify what matters most to you. Our goal isn’t just to help you 'get through' the day, but to help you build a life that feels authentic, grounded, and whole.

My Approach: Where Clinical Science Meets Compassionate Care:
If you feel like your past is still present—showing up as a racing heart, a sudden "shutting down," or a critical inner voice—I want you to know that your system is doing exactly what it was designed to do: protect you.
My practice is built on the belief that true healing happens when we combine a deep understanding of neurobiology with a gentle, non-judgmental space. I don't just look at symptoms; I look at the intricate ways your brain, body, and history of connection interact to create your current experience.
A Neuro-Informed Path to Healing
I specialize in an evidence-based therapy called EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), but I don't use a "one-size-fits-all" approach. My work is deeply informed by several critical lenses to ensure your safety and progress:
Polyvagal Theory
We work with your nervous system to help you find your "Window of Tolerance," moving from states of fight, flight, or freeze into a place of felt safety.
Attachment-Informed
We explore how your earliest relationships shaped your blueprint for connection, helping you develop a more secure sense of self.
Dissociation-Aware
I prioritize "pacing over chasing." We honor the ways your mind has protected you by ensuring we work at a speed that feels manageable and grounded.
Somatic-Informed
I utilize the body with its intuitive guide to lead us to its stuck points. I aim to ease tension and find where the tension is held to see what the body is holding and how we can release this.

Your Toolkit for Change
While EMDR helps us process the roots of your distress, I believe in providing you with practical, "here-and-now" tools to navigate daily life. I integrate evidence-based modalities to support your growth from every angle:
-
DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy): To help you find balance, regulate intense emotions, and navigate interpersonal conflict with more ease.
-
ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy): To help you unhook from difficult thoughts and move toward a life aligned with your deepest values.
-
Motivational Interviewing: To meet you exactly where you are in your journey, helping you tap into your own internal wisdom and readiness for change.
A Partnership Built on Safety
Therapy is a collaborative process. My role is to be a steady, clinical guide who views your experiences with profound empathy and respect. Whether we are processing a single traumatic event or untangling years of complex patterns, my goal is to help you move from a state of survival into a life of authentic presence and peace.
