Disclaimer
This Website Disclaimer explains important limits and conditions for using this website. It is written to support transparency, privacy, and informed choice consistent with the NASW Code of Ethics and technology standards.
1) Educational information only (not therapy, diagnosis, or advice)
The content on this website is for general informational and educational purposes only. It is not psychotherapy, clinical diagnosis, treatment, medical advice, or legal advice. You should not delay or avoid seeking professional help because of something you read on this website.
2) Not for emergencies or crisis communication
This website, email, and web forms are not monitored 24/7 and should not be used for urgent matters.
• If you are in immediate danger, call 911.
• If you are in crisis, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline).
3) No therapist–client relationship created by website use
Using this website, reading its content, submitting a contact form, sending an email, leaving a voicemail, or requesting an appointment does not create a therapist–client relationship. A professional relationship begins only after we mutually agree to services and complete the required intake and informed consent process. This reflects ethical expectations for clear informed consent and boundaries.
4) Telehealth location and jurisdiction (Arkansas & Oklahoma)
If you request or receive telehealth, you agree that you may be asked to confirm your current physical location at each session and provide emergency contact information as appropriate. Services are offered only where the clinician is licensed/authorized and where telehealth is legally permitted based on the client’s location at the time of service.
5) Confidentiality limits and legally required reporting (AR & OK)
If you become a client, confidentiality is a core value of care—however, laws and ethical duties can require or permit disclosure in limited circumstances. The NASW Code of Ethics specifically notes that legal obligations may, on limited occasions, supersede confidentiality (for example, reporting child abuse or threats of harm).
Examples of legal/ethical limits include:
• Suspected child abuse/neglect
• Arkansas: Mandated reporters must immediately notify the Child Abuse Hotline when there is reasonable cause to suspect child maltreatment.
• Oklahoma: Every person with reason to believe a child is a victim of abuse/neglect must report immediately.
• Vulnerable adult abuse/neglect/exploitation (Oklahoma)
Oklahoma law requires reporting when there is reasonable cause to believe a vulnerable adult is suffering abuse, neglect, or exploitation.
• Threats of serious harm (Arkansas duty-to-warn/protect)
Arkansas law addresses a mental health provider’s duty regarding threats and describes actions that can discharge that duty (including timely notification of law enforcement as outlined in the statute).
Disclosures, when required, are limited to what is reasonably necessary and consistent with applicable law and ethical standards.
6) Electronic communications are not guaranteed secure
Website forms, standard email, and voicemail may not be fully secure. Please do not include highly sensitive personal or clinical information (e.g., detailed trauma history, diagnoses, or substance use specifics) in website messages. Ethical technology standards emphasize maintaining confidentiality policies and procedures when technology is used.
7) Third-party links, embedded tools, and platforms
This website may include links or embedded tools (e.g., scheduling, client portal, maps, videos). We do not control third-party sites and are not responsible for their content, privacy practices, or security. Use of third-party services is at your own discretion.
8) No guarantees of outcomes
Therapy outcomes vary based on many factors. Nothing on this website should be interpreted as a promise, guarantee, or warranty of results.
9) Accuracy, changes, and typographical errors
We aim to keep website information accurate and current, but we do not guarantee that all content is complete, error-free, or up to date. We may update website content, services, or policies at any time.
