Terms & Conditions

These Website Terms (“Terms”) govern your use of Embodied Renewal Counseling’s website and any request for services submitted through it. By using this website, you agree to these Terms.

1) Website information only; no crisis use

The information on this website is provided for general educational purposes and is not medical, mental health, or legal advice and is not a substitute for professional care. This website is not intended for emergency communication. If you are in immediate danger or experiencing an emergency, call 911, go to the nearest emergency room, or contact 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline).

2) No therapist–client relationship through the website

Using this website, viewing content, or sending a message/request through online forms does not create a therapist–client relationship. A therapist–client relationship is established only after (a) a mutual agreement to begin services, (b) completion of required intake/consent paperwork, and (c) confirmation of scheduling/eligibility as applicable. This aligns with the ethical expectation that services and expectations be clarified through informed consent.

3) Communication limits and technology risks

Online forms, email, or voicemail may not be fully secure. Please do not submit sensitive clinical details (e.g., trauma narratives, diagnosis, detailed substance use history) through website forms. If you choose to contact us electronically, you acknowledge the potential privacy risks of internet-based communication and that we will take reasonable steps to safeguard confidentiality consistent with ethical standards and applicable law.

4) Privacy and confidentiality

If you become a client, your information will be handled according to our Notice of Privacy Practices and applicable confidentiality laws/standards. Social workers have an ethical duty to protect client privacy and confidentiality and to disclose confidential information only with valid consent or when legally permitted/required.

5) Legal and ethical limits to confidentiality (Arkansas)

Confidentiality has important limits. We may be required or permitted to disclose information without your consent in circumstances including, but not limited to:

Suspected child maltreatment/abuse or neglect: Arkansas law requires mandated reporters to immediately notify the Child Abuse Hotline when there is reasonable cause to suspect child maltreatment.

Threats of serious harm to an identifiable person: Arkansas’s mental health provider duty-to-warn / duty-to-protect law provides that a provider’s duty may be discharged by timely notifying appropriate law enforcement agencies as described in the statute.

Court orders and other legal requirements: We may disclose information when required by law or valid legal process, consistent with ethical standards.

We aim to disclose only the minimum necessary information and, when appropriate and safe, to discuss required disclosures with you as part of transparent, ongoing informed consent.

6) Telehealth

If telehealth services are offered, they require separate informed consent and may involve additional privacy and technology considerations. We follow ethical standards for technology use in social work practice and will discuss benefits/risks, alternatives, and expectations before telehealth begins.

7) Minors (if applicable)

If services are requested for a minor, a parent/legal guardian may be required to consent to treatment and related paperwork. The practice will explain how confidentiality and parental access work in treatment (as applicable) during intake and informed consent.

8) Updates to these Terms

We may update these Terms periodically. The “Effective Date” above reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the website after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

Terms effective date: February 1, 2026.
